I have discovered the term heutagogy! Introduced in 2000 by Stewart Hase and Chris Kenyon, whilst at Southern Cross University in Australia, it is the art of self determined learning. Well, it might not sound like much, but hey it got me excited on this English autumnal morning. I will have to make this blog very quick as I am about to rush off to campus. I teach tonight, on-campus, till 9pm so will not have anytime to reflect further and I suspect that by then, the novelty would have worn off. I have decided to participate in a Massive Open Online Course. #change11 It seemed such a good idea at the time! Now I am filled with doubts and insecurities. Typical learner eh?
