Rhizomatic Learning Animation - Pretty cool!
AK, Multilitteratus Incognitus
I have to say that this is, hands down, the most cool thing that I've seen a participant do in any MOOC I've ever been! Kudos to Guilia Forsythe! Here is Guilia's Challege:So, I'm issuing a remix challenge. Record some audio for my doodle: using your PC, Mac, mobile, soundcloud, YouTube, etc. (your tool of choice, etc.), while watching the video and post it here for me. Or download the video using MPEG StreamClip and do whatever you like to it! (Update: I've .... [Link]

A chaotic model Rhizomatic #change11
jaapsoft2, connectiv
Is Learning Rhizomatic? Rhizomatic=chaotic? Is Rhizomatic Model a Paradox or an Oxymoron? A model is anything used in any way to represent anything else. A model is used to explain something. A rhizomatic model explains growth in many directions and explains learning as establishing connections. This is a process model or an historic model because [...] [Link]

Change the PhD
AK, Multilitteratus Incognitus
This post is only peripherally related to Rhizomatic Knowledge (so you can skip it if you want ;-) )Yesterday evening I was looking over my twitter stream and I saw a post re-tweeted by George Siemens on what to say when someone asks you "should I do a PhD?" This post got me thinking (again) about the differences between a US (or perhaps a North American) PhD program and a UK PhD program. In the US (and I assume Canada?) PhD programs (that I've looked at .... [Link]

Claudia LAmoreaux, MOOCing About
The last two mornings I had 12 people add me to circles in Google+ - all from #change11. What a great way to start my day...stepping through each of their pages, reading their Abouts, glimpsing their photos and recent posts, and then adding them to my #change11 circle and occasionally a second circle. I realized that #change11 is a powerful filter for kindred spirits, like Second Life was in 2005 for early adopter changemaking edge-ucators. And I'm really thrilled to be meeting some of .... [Link]

Education: Open for Business 24/7? #change11
Andrew Neuendorf, Junct Blog
I previously posted on Google+ and education here. I just came across this article by Ryan Tyler at betanews about the benefits Google+ has in store for educators. I think he makes a lot of sense, especially when writing about the potential uses for "Hangouts":One other feature of Google+ that makes it a truly "killer app" for education is Hangouts. With a webcam and mic enabled computer or phone/tablet with a front facing camera, you can have a real time, online meeting with up to 10 .... [Link]

Built-in Breaks for MOOCs
brainysmurf,
106 - Multilitteratus Incognitus, November 7, 2011.
I really support the idea of built-in breaks for a longer mooc like this one. Notably, several participants have created summary or 'catch up' blog posts recently, which speaks to the need to find breathing room for synthesis, reflection and creation. A break might also give our facilitators and moderators a little breathing room in their hectic schedules of international travel to catch up on technical issues or contribute to the ongoing [Comment]
