Networks in the neural substrate
Olaf Sporns,
, January 24, 2011.
I've stated previously that networks within the connectivism theory exist in three substrates: neural, conceptual, and social/external. This talk by Olaf Sporns gets a bit technical...but you'll find the first section interesting in detailing networks in general. After this description, Sporns moves into a more advanced discussion of network structures within the brain. Within connectivism, neurons, concepts, and people share common network structures. How learning in one substrate impacts other substrates is still not clear. [Comment]

Concept Map at the End of Week 1 - #CCK11
Stephen Downes,

I've been enjoying the development of this concept map. It's not as complex as, say, the map of all the sciences (though it may become so in time), but it shows clearly how the structure of this course has become, in a very short time, a network structure. [Comment]
